Jinan University is the first overseas Chinese university founded by the government in China with a 110-year history since its founding in 1906. As a key comprehensive 211 Project university under the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council,Jinan university is widely recognized for its featured discipline construction and continued pursuit on stimulating atmosphere for pioneering researches and innovations.
The Institute of Photonics Technology (IPT) was founded in 2009 directly under the University. It specializes in fundamental research and development in the fields of advanced photonic devices, fiber sensor techniques, high speed optical communications, microwave photonics and nano- photonics. The institute has collected an excellent team of elite researchers recruited globally including winners of Distinguished Scholars and Distinguished Young Scholars from National Natural Science Fund of China (NNSFC), the New Century Excellent Talents and so on. The IPT has recruited 19 faculties with averaged age below 34. So far, the IPT has won more than 110 nationally and provincially competitive research grants with the total amount exceeding RMB¥70 million including two Distinguished Scholars, two National Key Projects and one Distinguished Scholars from NNSFC, and two 863 projects.

Basic annual salary:
Level I Scholarship, RMB¥ 63,000
